• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Popping when put in and out gear.

I recently replaced all the brakes on my 2001 gtp and while there replaced the half shafts because they had a fair amount of free play in them, I know one of the ball joints is bad and that would explain the popping while turning but would it explain why theirs a pop as the cars being put in and out of gear? Possibly a transmission mount? If so are is there a write up on swapping the mounts?

Motor mounts are my first guess.

Popping while turning is likey an axle, but I guess you just replaced them.

Ball joint seldom go bad on these cars.

The right front ball joint is missing most of the boot so I planned on replacing it I did notice I have something on the underside of the motor thats leaking but the engine and tranny aren't losing any lubricants.

My motor jumps about 3 inches between park and every other gear... working on getting it fixed soon

Btw. Are motor mounts DIY capable?
There is 2 lower ones right?

I've been under it, the leak may have been prior to me owning it it hasn't gotta any worse simply put the pan is coated in a thin coat of fluid, but I'll double check everything. What is the procedure for swapping the mounts out loosen the top mounts and jack the motor up?

Lol, I planned on using a board and a bottle jack. I've replaced mounts in frame before just never on anything fwd.

Ya took me about an hour or so to swap both out, the engine mount was trashed and the lower two studs didn't have nuts on them so its was long due to be replaced, now to rip out the park lock solenoid so I can get the key out..
