Poor mpg! Help

I have a 2003 Grand Prix GT Limited Edition. Its a 3.8 and my HUD is telling my im getting 16.4 MPG. Ive reset it a few times and get the same results. My car is completly stock, I dont know too much about my car so I could use some help as to what the problem is. Please help!
 


Tune that bish up. Get new plugs/wires...new air filter and change the oil and oil filter...try getting a new fuel filter too. If that doesn't change anything I'd look to see if the o2 sensors might be going out on ya. Since it is a 2003 (like mine) you have the funky rear o2...try getting a new one of those first...then go to the top one in the rear manifold...

Best MPG mod is staying out of the gas...:D

Hell I get 18-20 around town when I am not in it and about 24-28 on the HWY sometimes...but if I lay into it she runs down to about 13-16 ;)
 
i have a 98 gt and get 19.3 city and around 25 highway. my rear O2 went out but didnt c a great improvement after i replaced it(but if ur gettin a code replace it). it increased with new plugs. ill hopefully hit over 20 city once i add an intake and/or new wires.
