need some help here i have a 2003 gtp with a po440 code. i dont have a scanner to open the purge canster, or a smoke machine to do a smoke test. any one have any ideas on how to get around that to do some other testing?im at a total mind blow here. any help would be great thank you for your time.

p0440 is just a evap code right? just look over your lines. some people spray brake cleaner or carb cleaner on vacuum lines to see if there's a change at idle... but it could have been as simple as the gas cap

I get that code every couple months if I haven't tightened the gas cap properly. Tightening it always works for me but the rubber seal could be bad, so you might need to replace it.

Clear the code, and if it isn't back within 15 miles, then you've found your problem.

the light did come back one after i changed the gas cap. i didnt look to see after how many miles. i'll clear the codes again and keep an i one the mileage. and i will do the brake clean. thank you guys so much for your help. i let you know what happens in a day or two. thanks again
