PLX wideband installed inplace of stock O2

Here is what i came across when installing my PLX wide band setup.

First it is a PLX DM-6 SM-AFR Combo kit. It is a 100% full digital setup with a narrow band simulation, wide band, and gauge output. Yes 3 outputs. The gauge is full touch screen and has a very nice graph feature on the display. Also it is self calibrating. I chose this setup because I needed a new WB senor and my narrow band sensor was giving a slow response until the car was at operating temp, causing problems for the commute to work when still warming up. so instead of buying two sensors and installing an O2 bung I did it all with just this kit. for basically the same price.

I wont cover the install of the Wideband itself as it comes with instructions and it is pretty simple... install sensor, supply: ground and 12v ignition source. Also you can refer to my "Wide Band Logging thru EGR" thread http://www.grandprixforums.net/showthread.php?t=84845 for how to log the data without running a wire to your DHP or HPT box. What I will cover in this is how to get the Narrow band O2 to work correctly as it gave me a bit of trouble at first.

Locate the now disconnected B1S1 O2 harness (your primary O2). you will have 4 wires marked as follows:
A- Tan - O2 low input
B- PPl - O2 Hi input
C- Black - Ground
D- Pink - 12v ignition

I first tried connecting the simulated narrow band to the Hi input (B). I scanned the O2 via my Aeroforce and saw only a constant 445 mv. So i tried the low input and saw the O2's readings bouncing like they should. Im like Yeah!!! so i go for a drive. well my wide band slowly creeps down to 10:1 yet my fuel trims get MAXED out positive and the car starts running like crap. I'm like WTF. I do some reading and turns out I had it correct the first time. i just needed to ground A.

So in over view... Connect the simulated narrow band to B- Purple, A- Tan to the ground C, and you can leave D- Pink empty or use it as a ignition power for your wide band.

A- Tan - O2 low input --Link to C
B- PPl - O2 Hi input --Connect Narrow output here
C- Black - Ground --Linked to A
D- Pink - 12v ignition --Not needed.
 


Narrowband simulation SUCKS!!! In my experience it has caused way more problems than just running a zero trim open loop setup. I assume if you have a wideband you at least tuned it once so throw a quick adjustment to the injector table if it runs bad enough on open loop or run a stock narrowband.
 
If I want your opinion Dh I will give it to you! This is a new generation plx wideband. The narrow band simulation works great.
