Pioneer In-Dash DvD install in an '05 GT w/monsoon

I just purchased Pioneer's latest In-Dash DvD HU (Head Unit) - AVH-P3300BT.

I also just purchased a 2005 Grand Prix GT w/monsoon & OnStar system.

I have been reading ALOT of forums and websites describing the hell it is to install a new HU with the monsoon amp etc.

Apparantly, I need to buy an adapter to keep my chimes/OnStar as well as an adapter for my steering wheel controls. This isn't a huge problem.

What I am concerned with is my DIC working properly and still showing all the stats-date-oil life-etc.

Another issue having to re-wire all the speakers to my new Pioneer.

Is there anyone out there who has personal experience with replacing their stock monsoon (crap) system with aftermarket?

This is what I did when I installed mine. I have the Axxess GMOS-04. You can get it here Axxess Class II OnStar Interface For Systems GMOS-04 | eBay. The only thing you will lose for the DIC is the date. Nothing else is affected. When you install the unit you will use the RCA connections from the back of your head unit to the RCA connectors on the harness. If you'd like me to pull mine and take some pictures let me know.
