My educated guess is that these are pieces of clutch material from the Intense Gen I LSD I had in the tranny. Now, for all you people that are going to rag about the LSD, when i had the tranny redone at Dynotech eric had told me the diff looked good, and had some life left in it, so it was kept. Well, now it has no more life!

I'm going to be putting a stock HD diff in, but my question is how difficult is the install?? I seriously hate taking out the axles with a passion, are there more of those damn "slip rings" i need to contend with, or am I better off just bringing it down to Dynotech to have the HD diff put in??

In my experience, they come out pretty easy. I already had to replace my stockers (only one was vibrating, but figured what the hell :th_mischievious: ). But, if it's something you don't feel like dealing with, you may want to take it some where.

Once you get the axle out, there's another snap ring that holds the diff to the output shaft. But, a screwdriver or smaller pry bar between the output shaft and pinion shaft is enough to unseat it.

Here's some info on it...

Alrighty, got a stock HD diff ready to be installed tomorrow. We'll see what I come across!
