Passenger Floorboard POND!!!

Ok, I'm at my wits end with this. My AC (pretty sure) is leaking into my passenger side floorboard. ALOT! I'm talking I have a pond after running around for about half an hour. At first my fan wasn't working so I thought it was that. Then I got the fan working and there is cold air blowing but it is still happening. If I make a turn to the left I can hear water gushing and notice it leaking more heavily on the passenger side. I don't understand what else could be wrong. Or where that much water could be coming from... Please tell me someone has had this problem it fixed it.

Is it water or coolant? When the heater core leaks it can fill up the passenger side floorboard too. Take a look at the black airbox on the pass. side of the firewall up behind the console where the floor vent is at. If you see water here then I would assume heater core. If not, then it may be possible that the A/C vent is clogged.

It is def. water. And cold/cool water, at that. It only happens when the AC is turned on. It doesn't even have to be blowing air...just on...as it was doing the same thing when the fan wasn't working. Where do I check for the clogged AC vent? I'm trying to see if I can do this on my own before I break down and take it back to the shop.

Ugh yes this just happened to me about a week or so ago, although when my AC runs, there's no leak so im also assuming my heater core starting to go out. Its gotten the passenger side of my car drenched twice within the year an a half of having the car. Just for giggles i too wanna see where i could check for the clogged AC vent...

Check the drain for the ac, if the tube is clogged it fills the box up and overflows.
Are you sure its the ac and not the Cowl water leak?(im fighting this right now, carpets coming out tomaro)

It is probably the heater core. My old car not a GP did the same . It was a PITA to replace but once I did no more coolant leaks ( had to remove the WHOLE dash)

What year was your old car? I have a '98 and ive heard that you had to remove the whole entire dash and im not mechanically inclined to do that lol

I will be tackling this in the AM. I've research a little and feel comfortable enough to try the unclogging the AC drain. We have some ramps at the house to lift it a little. Also, my bf (who is conveniently out of town) explained where I need to drain most of the collected water from (a round metal piece with 3 or 4 screws back behind the glove box??) Apparently that is what shorted out the last fan; all the water.

Heater core isn't too hard. And no, the dash does not need to come out, it's not a Ford, lol... You do have to remove the console though. I did it on my 00 GT and it took me about 3 hours start to finish. First time on a GM at that.

if its water, not coolant....was it raining recently?

then it's the cowl seal under the hood. check it, bet it's half off.

I will check that also...but I am pretty pretty pretty positive it is the AC...
For this reason...it always leaks when the AC is on...it doesn't leak everytime it rains. Actually, I've gone a year with not using the AC at all and it never leaked...although it did rain alot during that year.
