I have a 97 gt and on the paint it looks like the hole car is covered in water spots but there not. I've tried going over the car with rubbing compound and several coat of wax but nothing does anyone know what it is or how to fix it.
 


Yes I'm sure the awful paintjob that someone probably did blindfolded to your car before you got it was specific to all 1997 GTs. I'm not sure what would make you assume that, but from what it sounds like, your car got a paint job and some did a pretty bad job. But pictures help.
 
The spots dont show up on camera otherwise I would have done that already I'm just trying to see if anyone can help no need to be a A**
 
I'm only saying that it makes no sense for it to be a 97 GT specific issue. Also, change the contrast and brightness, and where you take the picture. If it shows up in real life, it CAN show up on camera.
 
I didnt say the it was a specific issue with the type of car if you have a paint question it make scenes to my to tell what year the car, I'm not sure may be that's just me but i will try to take a picture
 


One word Powerbuffer. Hand waxing is worhtless for paint correction. Find a Harborfrieght tools or go one line and get a power buffer from them with variable speed. I got one for like 35 bucks. Then got to oreillys and get some 3 step products from meguires or ask if they have 3M cutting and buffing compound. Its more expensive and most stores carry it just not on the shelves. Its mostly for bodyshops. I dont remember the cut grades of the 3 step meguires stuff I have. You need a gritty cutting compound 1st stage then buffing/swirl remover 2nd and followed by wax/sealant 3rd preferrably last step by hand so you dont burn/haze or swirl the final step. It will take some time but the results will be the absolute best your going to get shy of a repaint. Its not expensive to do just very time consuming. Id also reccomend going to the meguires website and looking at the forum they have about paint correction some of the results they have are amazing. And last if the paint is chipped or dented bad enough I wouldnt bother. The 3 step will make a huge difference in scratches that have not gone through the base coat though. If your willing to try a more extreme measure 2000 grit wet sand then 2500 grit wet sand then do the 3 step process. I did this to the roof hood and trunk of my regal GS because clay bar wouldnt take the sap stains off and Im very picky. Good luck and do some research on the meguires forum. :th_thumbsup-wink:
 
Need more grit or wetsand I'll bet its in the clear coat. Go to the meguires forums and look at some of the paint correction threads.
