p1518 code

Hello everyone, This is my first post, though I've had my 04 gt2 for a few years. This car has been great up till a couple weeks ago. The check engine light came on and a p1518 code was thrown. I had it reset and shortly after it come back on with the" service traction control" and "reduced engine power" warnings. I did A thorough cleaning on the throttle body, checked electrical connectors, and had the battery tested. The battery showed bad at two different places , So I replaced it. It ran good for about a hundred miles then kicked back into reduced power mode. I had A diagnostic run and they said the code indicates it's the throttle body. Do you agree? also prior to the check engine light coming on there had been a noticible drop in mpg and normal operating temp. the cooling system was serviced a few months ago, including therm. Lastly, If it is the throttle body, Is the 04 the same as 05 and up? It is the series 3, non supercharged dbw model. Your help would be greatly appreciated, Steve

Knowing you didn't expect us to look up the code, I kinda held my sarcastic.. "list at least the name" comment.

Have you looked up and googled the code?

Surely you read up on the FSM info on gearchatter, I find that most of the fixes are located in the dagnostic aids section. Being a new code to me..I read up on it. Pretty interesting and could be a few different items.

Steve..being that you are at the car and know the history. Where are you thinking it's best to start looking/diagnosing?

My first thoughts were checking the wiring etc and trying to go through the items in the diagnostic aids. It really is about 90% of the time that I find the answer in them.
