P0440 is driving me nuts!



i was in line to get a sicker on friday, legit pulling into the garage this code came up. needless to say i am riden around with no sticker, and an illuminated ses light.
 
I too have had this check engine light since i did my swap 2 years ago and been on since. Ive done everything and wont go away.
 
I have a friend who had this same problem on his 04 GT and it turned out to be the gas tank filler neck vent tube. its a little hose thats runs along side of the filler neck which acts as a vent for the tank. That has a hairline crack in it sending off the bad gas cap code.

BTW..... Its a dealer only part
