P0172 every Winter

I have 2001 gtp that is completely stock. The car has 220000 miles on it and still runs great. However, every winter it gives me a P0172. I can clear the codes and it will stay off for about a day or so. The car doesn't seem to run any different but my mileage does seem to drop a little. This is the 3rd winter ive experienced this. I have tried replacing all O2 sensors and the maf which seemed to help but the mil always comes back the same code and only that code. Anybody ever experience anything like this?

You should always identify the code and its meaning so everyone that sees it doesn't have to look it up themselves.

P0172 - Fuel Trim System Rich Bank 1

I replaced the maf last winter. The light stayed off for a couple days then came back. Think it could be getting dirty that quick?

Well check the things that determine fuel. Which is maf, map, and more simply engine temp sensor, and iat. Now why just bank 1 I'm confused about.

I thought it was 2 banks 1 sensor(for fuel trims) lol. I suppose banks are in reference to the sensors and not 1-2 being inline or v engine

Do you have a stock or open cone intake?

Why did you replace parts? MAF? Shotgunning parts at problem? That's an expensive way to guess how to fix something. I go with IAT sensor as the code appears when the TEMPERATURE changes, lol... Maybe Bad injector?

I replaced the maf due to a maf code I swapped it with a buddies and ot fixed it so I went and bought a new one.
Ill check the iat and cts when I get a chance. The injector thing makes me wonder cuz I have replaced 2 separate ones that just quit since ive had the car about 5 years. Only car I've ever had that actually had a bad injector twice.

Well as always asked in repetitive maf failures, they can be over oiled and cause issus with contamination. I don't think it would get dirty in a couple days unless you serviced the filter again.

Injectors may be a good place to start. I've done injector balance tests which is ideal, but that requires special equipment.

well since it's open cone, is the IAT hanging off by the filter? If so, I'm gonna suggest looking at the IAT especially since you have an issue when the temps are changing.
