The HO2S 1 circuit, if open, should set a DTC P0134 and the scan tool will display a constant voltage between 400 - 500 mV. A constant voltage below 300 mV in the sensor circuit (circuit grounded) should set DTC P0131, while a constant voltage above 800 mV in the circuit should set DTC P0132. A fault in the HO2S 1 heater circuit should cause DTC P0135 to set. The PCM can also detect HO2S response problems. If the response time of an HO2S is determined to be too slow, the PCM will store a DTC that indicates degraded HO2S performance.

So this is the sensor on the engine block correct? Not on the exhaust near the cat?

Can anyone reference me ways to test if an O2 sensor is bad before I spend apparently 50$ on one?

http://www.obd-codes.com/p0135 thats a non working heater in the o2. all it does is heat up the o2 so it works faster. time to replace it.

Well the code that the title of the thread is compared to the one link you posted are different. P1135 is not a GM code for o2 sensors but the P0135 is, which is your issue.

Like said, time to replace the o2 sensor. Grab a new delco/denso sensor, they should only be like 35-45 bucks last time I checked.

This sensor is in the exhaust and directly behind cylinder 6 in the exhaust manifold.

Oops didn't realize I copied 1135. Thanks for catching my mistake.

Also thanks for letting me know which O2 sensor. I was scratching my head on that one.

Good thing I know where the O2 sensor that sits near spark plug #6. I haven't personally looked, seen, or replaced the one that's apparently near the CAT.

BTW 300 miles since the lower, upper intake repair. Running smooth other than this little problem. I'm glad you guys always have eyes on the forum!
