• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Do you visit other forums not related to the Grand Prix/Pontiac theme. I recently registered to Probetalk.com because well.....I have a probe and thought it would be a good place to learn something about it much like I have here and the other GP forums. They are complete douchbags and unaccepting. I don't go in there and try and stir the pot but recently asked what their 1/4 mile times were and they locked my fuking thread. It is worse than clubgp and their dont ask, search the forum you douchbag attitude. whatever

I'm actually a donating member on maxima.org. I still pop in and check things out. I met a couple nice people on there, but a lot of them are not very open to having a females on the site. Even with that attitude I encountered, I still learned a few things about my car.

I am a supporting member and mod on projectcamaro.com and a member of nastyz28.com both have been great for me

I belong to a few Jeep Cherokee Forums, a Isuzu Rodeo forum, and a few forums that deal with fuel economy and stuff along that line. But by far most of my time is spent on this site.

I a supporting member of fullsizechevy.com, ls1tech.com, the 12volt.com, stevemeaddesigns.com, and diymobileaudio.com along with a few others and all of them are usually pretty good to hang out on. The only one I ever ran into problems was gmfullsize.com.

I've lurked around FFCobra.com (mostly the GTM section) and Ultima Can-Am (Canam) : CJ's Ultima Can-Am Build Site - Bitza-racing. I'm thinking about a project car in a couple of years when I'm a little more settled. Both of those boards seem very mature and informative, and although the can get a little rough it's usually for someone's own good, like when they grossly underestimate the cost of building a car, and even then they're still civil and informative, just direct.

I think maturity has a lot to do with it. Forums for more expensive or more challenging cars, or other more technical forums, are probably going to attract older and more experienced people. Unfortunately, most people who would actually visit a Probe forum (who bought the car for any purpose other than basic transportation) are probably younger. So the people who do just want to answer a simple maintenance question or problem aren't going to stay long, and the only people left are douche bag e-thugs.

This site and corvetteforum.com are the 2 I post the most on. Most other sites I have visited are terrible. Not allowed to have an opinion without being hammered. On one site a guy got so mad because I called BS on his 88 mustang GT beating a z06 vette he wanted to drive to my city and challenge me. WTF, punk kid with no clue what he was trying to get himself into. I dont have time to play with internet tough guys ya know. I'm on here to learn more about my cars and to help other car owners. I'm not looking for "i know you are but what am I" childish post wars. So yes I know what you mean.
This site is a rare atmosphere, very helpfull and informative. I hope it stays that way.

I'm a member of 30+ GP or related forums. LS1, etc. forums, a couple aftermarket company forums, 3 business forums, and so on. Haven't really encountered many issues personally, but if I do I usually get into it defending someone else's ride or mods. I don't say much, but I will stand behind what I say and believe 100%. I'm probably the most open/talkative on GPF, but quite active on a few. Just not as social.

I'm part of a local forum (nwaimports.com) and a few other GP related forums, and have been pleasantly surprised at the kindness and willingness of people to help out. There have been a few times that I've linked to other forums (like some mustang and honda/import forums) and had to read through a page or two of crap and bashing. I'm so glad the community here is as it is.

BTW, anyone in North West Arkansas or the surrounding area, check out the site I mentioned above.

I've found a lot of w-body communities are like this. NAIOA we certainly don't allow anyone to get away with any bashing, but we have no need to enforce it. It's usually just constructive criticism.

I'm all for everyone having an opinion and defending it. I even welcome constructive criticism. I like to hear what people dont like as well as what they like to be informed on both sides of an issue. Where I draw the line is when it gets to be just name calling and a pi$$ing match. I guess the bad reputations at some sites are the cliche " the few ruin it for the many"
