opinion on getting something fixed...

Ok so in my 98 Grand Prix GT I have the ol' ABS/TRAC light on issue and also the stiffness in steering. I have read several threads about this and it pretty much could only be a few things.. however, I am a complete newbie when it comes to fixing anything on cars and between work and school it would be easier for me to go to a shop and have it fixed there... with that said a while back my car was in the shop for another issue but I had asked them to take a look at the ABS TRAC issue as well...when I picked my car up they had fixed my other problem but left the ABS TRAC unfixed saying that I should just leave it be and not spend the money as it could be expensive for them to go in there and figure out whats wrong etc.

Should I just buy the parts of what this probably is and say here fix it???

Also if anyone has a shop in Atlanta/Marietta they can recommend I would much appreciate it !!

instead of just buying all the parts that "might" be it id try to do a little deeper search on your problem and single out what it is. that way your saving your pocket from what could be pretty expensive
