One-way Parking Brake on my 2008 GXP

Hi All, I have a wierd problem with the parking brake on my 2008 GP GXP. When I set the brake the following happens:
1. The pedal goes all the way to the floor.
2. The car will not roll forward.
3. The car WILL roll backward until it locks into the trans pin or freely if in neutral.

Is this a typical problem with this set-up?

Are there any ways to fix this problem or is it just an adjustment issue?

Could be worn out barking break shoes, or need adjustment.

Probably needs the cable tightened.
