To clarify, you have an automatic. Tapshift does not make your transmission a manual. Sorry to burst your bubble.
Nedativeone13: It's interesting trying to communicate with someone like you. You spend all your time in mommy's basement apartment and think you know it all from reading Motortrend. I have two forward gear selections on my transmission selector, A and M. In M I MANUALLY select which gear I want to be in and it goes to that gear. I hope that isn't too hard for you to comprehend.
SeanGTP: Tapshift only works in M. It only will downshift in M it will only upshift in M and that is all controlled by the tapshift lever. Calling tapshift names only reveals you as being immature and not knowing what you are talking about.
Automatic valve body: Check.
Cool story, but I used to work at a Rice dealership, almost all cars have the same thing. If you're driving at high RPM and not shifting, the car eventually tells you to go f*ck yourself and shifts for you.
And as mentioned, regardless of every little small detail of the functionality, it still shifts sloppy and slow, and it's still horribly ineffective.
There is a reason tapshift isn't discussed much here, and that 90% of members slam on it. It's because it sucks. Sorry that news is too tough for you to handle, good luck out there, I'd hate to hear what you say when you find out FWD isn't as good as RWD.
I'm sorry you worked at a rice dealer ship, sucks to be you. Did you sell cars? I worked for Pontiac for years. Sorry for you I know more than you. I'm sure you get told to go f*ck yourself often. I'll bet a tapshift GP never told you that. I bet you have never driven one to redline. This isn't about FWD and RWD. And I'm have no problem with my tapshift.
Clearly you know more than me, your use of the English language more than proves that. And quite frankly, I enjoyed my time working at a Honda store. No, I didn't sell them, I just worked with the guys fixing them. You know, learning more than what the salesmen knew. Oh, and then there was the transport job. Where I moved cars between dealerships and auctions. The number of Comp-G GTP's I've driven probably comes close to the number most people have seen. You bet I've had plenty of time to mess around with them, that would include redlining a good few of them.
Whats that check, did you check your brain at the door? When the selector is in M the transmission does not shift automatically. It's an automatic valve body that requires a MANUAL action to activate the shift. It's an automatic valve body in Manual mode.
For someone claiming to be so mature, you're quite hostile.
I don't respond well to attacks.
I respect that you're honest about that.
Easter cheers! :th_beer-toast2:
Im 28 and own a 05 CompG . Probably the best handling and reliable car I have ever had . Yes it does have better suspension and 3.29 gear ratio. I dont understand all the GP hating since it is A GP Forum after all.
