Okay, aparently I'm and idiot. Gen V help

Okay, seeing as I must be an idiot becuase I can't figure out what the hell is wrong. I just installed a GenV a few weeks ago as most of you already know, and I had a problem with KR and found out that it was caused by a massive vacuum leak from a broken line that connected to the boost gauge.

Well now I have another problem. My car runs horrible WOT in the lower RPM's right after it shifts gears, but once it gets back up into the higher RPM's again it takes off like a bat out of hell.

Anyone have a guess at what might be the problem here?

And if at all possible can I get someone to take quite a few pictures of their GenV setup on their 97-03 car? Just pictures of the hoses/connectors and such and where they are going. Just to double check and make sure I did'nt do something stupid and connect something wrong, or not at all.

Check the BBV operation.

When the car is off is it all the way down at the 9:00 spot? When you start it does it go all the way up to the 12:00 position? When you hit the throttle cable on the TB does the BBV move smooth?

I assumed so, but I'll certianly be checking that once it's daylight outside.

Hey Vinnie, I'm going to post a video real quick to show you just what I'm talking about.

My speedometer damn near stops after it changes gear, and take in mind this is with a 3.25 pulley on it which is much longer than what I should be able to run safely.

You sure it ain't a programming issue with the PCM file? I'd like to see the video too, but to me it doesn't sound mechanical, but I maybe wrong too.

Question for Vinnie... Ok when my car is off the BBV is in the 9 o'clock position however I noticed the other day when idling the BBV was in the 10-11 o clock range, not at 12, does this matter? I didn't think much of it, I figured if it goes to 9 when its off, it should at WOT too. This thread questions my theory though, thoughts? Thanks!

Well it could be, but the only thing that makes me think thats not the problem is it ran great before the install. Not a single problem, not all of a sudden I have the vacuum leak fixed and I actually actually go WOT this new problem pops up out of the blue.

True, then again changing out the S/C is a big mod, I mean you moving more air so things may need to be adjusted. I donno, like I said I maybe wrong. But a retune could be in order. Check out the obvious under the hood and if you find nothing, try a fresh bin file and start over again, see what happens.

What is that flashing? Is that the SES light? Have you checked into that?

Video looks like you're just recovering from bad wheel spin and thats why the speedo is hesitating like that.

If it doesn't do to the 12:00 position at idle theres an issue. Does it close again when you blip the throttle? Can you gently manualy move it to the 9:00 position with the car off?

That sounds like Pulled timing to me....As in, 0* timing, then all of a sudden after about 3 seconds it runs like a raped ape.

Sorry guys, did'nt do anything with it yesterday.

Going to go workout, ride the bike, check on some parts for a member, then see what I can figure out.

Well I checked once I pulled in just a few moments ago. At idle it is in the 12 O'Clock position, and when I blip the throttle it moves. I did'nt rev it up all the way or anything though, but it seems to be working correctly.

why are all of your dummy lights on... on dash

Multiple reasons why those are all blinking, nothing to do with the current problem though.

And that is the Security light blinking, not the SES light.

Have you pulled your plugs to see if you have popped a piston? I ran a smaller pulley than I should have once... I kept popping chunks off the top of the piston and the debris would smash the plug to where it would only run good at higher RPM's... If you did... it would most likely be piston 4 or 6... Those are the ones I always had problems with... Just a thought...
