my dad doesnt believe anything i tell him that any l36 or l67 block will work..... he thinks since he knows everything that he is looking into sleeving the cylinder and get this at lee auto "apparently they have a shop locally that they machine stuff.............. tell me isnt this a BAD idea! im so pissed off i know a ton more about cars and automotive then he does and he apartently thinks he is this auto god when he cant even perform a god damn tune up..... sleeving a engine = disaster correct.....................? ughhhhhh :th_angry-cussing:
 


Diesels are sleeved all the time. Never herd of someone doing a 3800 tho. Probally end up costing more than the short block.
 
thats what im trying to say but i am jsut a kid obsessed about autos and im on my 2nd and final year for my degree but i dont know anything............ i hate people that think they know everything ugggghhhhhhhh every1 wish that tomarrow when my big headed dad gets a quote for sleeving it that its real expensive.....
 
honda's get sleaved. mostly for bigger displacement. are you doing this to the stock block?? what turned out to be the failure with yours??
 


ok glad to hear that bio wait til he gets a price quote for sleeving it tomarrow then i hope he realizes it.
 
just take him to autozone and get some prices on...

new rod and main bolts
bearings

and most importantly piston rings. Makes sure that you get the price on the cromemoly ones...

That'll shut him up.
 


The only people that i know of that sleeve blocks are honda kids with crazy boost. sleeving a 3800? why? your going to spend way more than the block is worth.
 
yeah i told him tonight haha he realized i was right haha we found a l36 locally on ebay its only at 140 right now and we dont need shipping duh =p its a complete l36 with 63k i hope the bidding war doesnt go nuts =[
 
ya, when my engine blew (first day i got it =/ ) we got an engine out of a monte. its pretty much the same car but with diff body and interior. its just sad knowing its not original tho =/
