oil pressure light

so my car was finally put back together today and started for the first time with the cam and heads. but as soon as we started it the oil pressure light came on so we shut it off. checked to make sure the sensor was plugged in and cleaned it off. also checked the oil filter. where should i start? also the vaccum was only reading 10, shouldnt it be higher even with the cam untuned?

I'd suggest the gauge as well. A manual gauge is a great thing to have, even though you won't use it often. The times you do..it's priceless.

I know because I've been in your situation.

did you reassemble the oil pump gear how it was supposed to be? my problem when i did my swap is that i had no oil pump gear in the car.

my friend whos been helping me did all the bottom end work since he had already put and xp cam in his car, but he didnt run a double roller so it was new to him. he said he didnt change anything with the cover off, just pulled it off and put the machined cover on. paul at prj is saying your supposed to pack it with lube inside there before you put it back on, which he didnt. so thats what were thinking is the issue.

If you didn't pack it with vasoline or whatever, then unhook the coil pack module and crank it a few times. It should self prime.

If you've had it running and the light flashed..a gauge is the only way to know what's really going on.
