Got a weird issues that just started on my wife's car. The Oil pressure light on the dash is coming on and off at times. This morning she informed after getting to work it was on about the first 5min of her drive. The oil level was good on it this morning when she left (checked the dip stick). Nothing on the display showing low oil either. The rest of her 30+min drive the light was off. For the first 5 mins of driving there was speeds up to 45mph. No engine noises.
Not sure if it might be the oil pressure sending unit or the sensor. In looking it seems they are different parts. What might be the best way to check this?
I do not think this would have anything to do with it. At the same time the car is telling her to check her gas cap. It is tight. Thinking I just need to replace it.
We are looking to trade this car in in the next month or two. Trying to keep large costs down.
