Easy way to find it is get the car on ramps and jack stands and have someone start the car and go underneath it with a flashlight. Could be the timing cover. Could be the oil pressure sending unit or could be coming from the oil pan. Those are the most common areas.

Oh and welcome

I've done that and pulled the inner plastic part off pressured washed engine let run for 30 min. not one drop until yesterday check oil light came on,she added 1quart drove 50miles I checked when she got home it read full. This morning ran it for 25 min before work nothing leaking

that would be the oil pressure sensor leaking. turn the cars wheels to the left, then leave the car running, with a flash light, in the day time even, look from behind the tire, past the oil filter, on that neck is a sensor, oil will be leaking out of the plug. if its real bad oil will pour out like syrup. leaks faster with more rpm's. check this fast as when that low oil light comes on, its almost to late. i hope she got more oil in it fast.

new sensor is 10 to 12 bucks. best way to change it is with large channel lock pliers, ( jack car up take pass wheel off, then reach in to it) only snug the new one up, do not try to bury the threads, stop at snug.

I'll try that thursday and change it out and go from there.she did,she pulled over on the freeway and added it, she loves her grand prix she has had four a 94,98,01 still in the family, and 06 thanks for the info i'll keep you posted

id check it out quicker then that. i lost 3 quarts when mine went last time. it all of a sudden got real f ing bad. this was in miles, not days. had cars beeping and flipping me off as they had their wipers on and oil was smeared all over their windshields. looked back saw a lot of smoke. pulled over fast.

truth is ive blow 3 of them so far. (so sick of it) so now i have a brass plug in the hole blocking it off, done. till i buy a oil pressure gauge.

wife wont be back until tomorrow night however Idid put a case of oil in the trunk, she called me and said that the level is still full when she gased up i'll cross my fingers, and thanks again for your help. by the way what kind of sensers were you buying?

i blew what ever was on the car when i got it, then a pep boys brand and a auto zone brand, the brass plug cost 43 cents lol works best lol

napa wont have the brass plug, its a hardware store deal. looks like a boat hull plug, only smaller.

im willing to bet dollars to donuts the napa sensor will last longer tho.
