Oil in engine bay?

So, I was toying around under the hood and I notice there is oil sitting in the engine bay. This cannot be good, right? The area is in the red square. There's just oil hanging out down there and the edge of the valve covers look pretty iffy.

What is this a sign of?

oil or coolant? it is hard to tell when everything is dirty. your lower intake gaskets might have taken a dump.

Most likely lower intake gaskets if it's oil there. If it's coolant, it could still be the LIM gaskets or it might be the UIM gaskets.

Haha well I just watched :
http://www.cpaclubgp.com/misc/lim-gasket.html
On how to replace a Lower Intake Manifold Gasket. So maybe it's time then huh?

So, I figure if I'm going to have the thing mostly apart, I might as well replace a few things whilst I'm in there. Keep in mind currently it is a bone stock GT. I plan on getting an aftermarket PCM, exhaust, downpipe etc etc. With looking at the possibility of an M90 setup eventually. So keeping all this in mind what would be my best bet to replace my rockers, pushrods, lifters with? Is there anything I oughta do while I'm there?

I'm looking at :

http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_prix/products1.php?id=110&catid=104

What is the difference between Rocker arms and rockers? Also do I want roller rockers or Hydraulic? Is it advised to change the cam when putting in new lifters?

Specifically :

Which of those would I need?

Thanks,

Eric B.

leakings lower intake gaskets will lead to a spun bearing fairly quickly. i would do it the next time you have some time.

lol my engine is similar with leaking oil, instead of replacing the N/A parts, i decided to just do the m90 swap now. As far as rockers it really depends, if u go with the 1.9's your going to need Lsx style springs and retainers, I personally went with Yella Terra 1.9 roller rockers with L76 springs. Rockers are rockers the modded ones from zzp are stock style ones, while the yella terras are roller's from australia :). Anything less like 1.7's or 1.8's you can use stock springs.

If you like to hear your valve train clatter then get the Comp Cams Lifters...IMO...get some new stock ones. You can buy a set of LS7 Lifters which work just fine in our cars and are cheaper. Plus they are QUIET. You're gonna need some exhaust mods too so those higher ratio rockers can breathe...just my 2 cents...

That's exactly what I was thinking but it's gonna take me some time to get the money so i was worried about waiting too long and doing damage to the motor
