• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Oil in Coolant container. What are my options?

Its probably transmission fluid from a failed transmission cooler inside the radiator. Its a lot more likely that happened then if oil was somehow getting into the coolant.

Sure its not the typical dexcool sludge? Is your oil low? Did you mix green coolant with the dexcool?

I think if it was a transmission cooler it would also be putting coolant into the transmission. the two coolers i seen fail like that were filling the transmission with coolant.

It took my finger to it and it was oil for sure. Now the car just got an oil change at the dealership so im thinking that one of those dummies may have dropped oil in there when removing the oil drip pan thing that they use to pour the oil into the oil reservoir. The coolant reservoir has this sludge running all the way up from where the coolant level is, to the top of the reservoir near the cap.

EDIT: Will be trying to rectify this issue with many coolant flushes. Thanks to all who chimed in. Can be locked now, cheers!
