OBX Header leak after installation

I just finished the install on my OBX headers, and upon starting the car, I have a leak from the connection between the front header and the crossover.

It is in this location:

Is there a donut gasket that belongs there?
 


I had those headers. SUCKED. gave them to a friend for free. Mine were the first designed sets which the cross over didn't fit right and had to hack the triangle part on the trans off to bolt it down. and I had nothing but leaks with them. Good luck on figuring it out. i never did.
 
I am not sure what properly tightened is for these headers. At first it felt too loose, so we tightened it down until it was really tight, and then it kept leaking.

Eddie, those aren't washers, those are the springs that came with the stock hardware.
 
try and get that part welded if you can, maybe throw a few tacks on it while its on the car in that position then take it off and weld all around it
 


Boosten, these had the crossover problem as well. It took us 3 days worth of work to get these damn things this far. The crossover is now extensively modified. I was glad to have a brother with a welder to even get me this far.

wow i see now my bad lol
 
I can't have it welded in that position because we already had to weld the crossover to the collector to make sure it seals right back there. These will also have to come off soon when I put my Gen V (top swap) on my L36.

As tempting as that is, I have these sealed up the rest of the way and I believe that they will make a nice set of headers for me once I get this last issue fixed. My problem was that I hadn't done my homework before buying these, and when I saw "ebay headers" for sale in the classifieds, I assumed that it meant Speed Daddy's.
 


take the donut gasket out. coat the edges that seal it in a layer of RTV and let it dry. reinstall donut gasket.

they'll seal. i did this with the TOGs that i owned.

I hadn't put a donut gasket in there, but I will go get one and try that. Thanks
 
it's possible they dont need one depending on the shape of the flange. you could do the same concept with the flange, though.
 


We got them to seal. We took the front header in to Advance Auto Parts and asked them to bring a number of diff sizes of donut gaskets until we got one to fit. The one that worked was from a 92 Silverado K2500 (454). I am incredibly pleased with how these turned out, but I wouldn't wish this install process on anyone.
 
lol told you it was that donut yea mine wasnt for my car, i went to advanced and they brought me a bucket of donuts i took my cross over will me and just started seeing which one would fit and after that it solved my leak too.
