so today i decide to take off work and take the girl out of town to rockford...so i call off work tell the girl to get ready n dressed and i grab the i pass and i hit the highway....well after bout 2 hours of cruisin i found my self only to find some beat up civics and some eclipes...they were no challenge...i wish i had a camera to video tape this one with a avenger with a full body kit,black steelies and 3m double sided sticky hood scoops...dude didnt even wanna race...any who after no luck of finding a real race i am headed home and i see a suv go past with big chrome ss badges..i say hmmm about time..so i speed up next to him and he looks over...so i give it some gas to let him know i am down...well he takes off like a bat so i gun it well we had a sharp turn ahead of us so i decided to slow down...well then we got to a straight away and i am in the next lane trying to get head to head...when my front bumper is about at his back wheels he takes off..so im like fu*k it lets go..so i flow it from bout 70...i am gradually pullin on him and at about 120 i am ahead of him pullin bout a foot every secnd or 2....i see him start to slow down so i slow down to the posted limit of 55mpg...we get caught at a red light and i roll the window down and ask him year and motor..well its a 2007 trail blazer ss with a LS2 6.0 in it..everything stock but a k&n cold air intake..he said gov it shuts off around 130....then he gave me a thumbs up and turned right at the light as he floors it and breaks his tires loose and kits it kinda side ways...so short story is i beat him and got my race in...should i be happy i beat him or was it a waste of gas...
 




got a guy in town with a cobra he has header full ex and smaller pulley n tune he wants to race for 200 cash should i even try
 
nope. he will own you. he is probably pushing 400+ rwhp. youd be lucky to run a 12 second pass with your setup and if he knows how to drive he should be deep in the 12s.
 
yea he is kinda cocky so i doubt if i ask can we race for fun that he will even try to...one of my buddies has a stock camero Ls1 and he has ran stock a 13.1 he is a very good driver..he wants to race for money also..around 200 ish...should i attempt this one?
 
whats up with the people you know and racing for money? what ever happened to pride and motivation for a bigger setup?

honestly, the camaro would be close(r) to your available power level, but he has top end on you. past 2nd gear he is going to start walking away from you.
 


and idk why they want money to race..i guess there motto is why race for free..if its a real race put money on it.. i have only raced for money once and i won..it was 20 buxs on a cav z24
 
yup my first time at the track got smoked by one. It was runnin mid 13's with a (no offense, just making a point) 200 pound woman driving.
 


i'd like to have a trailblazer ss. good kill i say.. cobra will kill u. he's being an ass by telling u $200 for a race. like bio said, most do it for pride or fun..
