I got a 2004 pontiac grand prix gtp with the comp-g. I while back I was on a long and winding road with no shoulder or anyplace to pull off. suddenly I get a message that the engine is over heating and shortly after that a message saying transmission is running hot. I had to keep driving for a couple of miles before I could get to a safe place to pull over and let it cool down. Now it feels like its working fine under normal conditions but if I am in 4th and need to gun it or need extra power to climb a hill it down shifts like its suppose but will not up shift unless I let off the gas then press the gas again. If i use the paddle shifter then I noticed there is no 3rd gear. Any idea what the issue could be?
