Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Not exactly kills but times

Friday was the first time I have ever been to a 1/4 race track. I was pretty nervous at first but soon got the hang of it.

I raced a 01 Mustang GT ( I dont know the mods ) it was my first time and i screwed up my time was 16.395 and his was 15.981.

Next was a 97 Camaro 6.0 or 5.7, He ended early for some reason and my time was 15.690.

Next race was a 04 GP GT ( air intake, tune, and exhaust ) his car was black also lol my time was 15.604 and his 17.341

Last race was a SRT4 neon with alot of stuff done to it (my friends car) my time was 15.459 and his 15.600, He had his low pros on and was wheel hopping pretty bad.

The more I raced the better I was able to focus on the lights and take off.

I eventually got better at warming up the tires, my first try was embarassing ( i forgot about the traction control )

any pointers and tips would be awesome

Its a GTP, and I'm on the coast but the track is about a 1 1/2 hour drive away so I dont know. This was my first time there, my tires are pretty bad, and I have a 02 sensor code. I shouldve taken my subs and spare out.

a new O2 sensor would really help lol. that track has to be way above sea level too, those times seem high all around. an 01 mustang at 15.9, a srt4 at a 15.6, and a gp gt at 17.3... something's off. change the O2 sensor and if you don't break into the 14's after a few runs, i'm blaming the track

its 122 feet above sea level from what I googled. it was a very muggy night if thats also to cause. is it hard to replace the 02 sensors at home?

Nope you just need a special socket that you can't use one anything else but o2 sensors. Available at any autoparts store.

I'm not calling you a liar, but back when srt-4's came out they were running 10psi in the tires pulling 13's stock at Norwalk

he's usually around there, but he had his gangster wheels on with no side wall so he was wheel hopping bad. he usually runs with 16's on

You aren't spinning stock radials to warm them up? You are warming up drag tires correct? Street radials unless a few specific types don't do well launching after spinning them and heating them up. Might try without warming them up and see if it makes a difference.

Remember the first time at the track. You will be laughing about it for years to come.

Not to mention you'd be wasting money away everytime you smoked your street tires lol.:th_thumbsup-wink:

No theyre stock radials :(. I just saw everyone else doing it so I decided to do it also lol Well next week I'll try taking off with out warming them up.

Thats what I'm here to do. Learn about things to make my GTP faster but being smart at the same time

just gives me an excuse to get some better tires lol I do need to replace these soon. Where can I find some drag radials that are the correct size?

It cracks me up how everyone thinks they are so much smarter than the next guy. They don't realize they didn't even known their own name they had to be taught that. It's not what you or don't know, it's how you learn it that matters.
