• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

My name is Brad. I am from Ohio. My wife was given her fathers car when he passed away. It is a Gold 98 GTP 2 door with tan cloth. Seems like a rare color combo. My wife then gave me her 95 GT/SE 3.1 2 door. I joined here because my wife says the 98 is possesed. It has a 0300 code that I can't seem to fix. I have replaced...

plugs
wires
maf sensor
tps
supercharger coupler
pvc

I really do not want to take it somewhere. Any help would be highly appreciated. BTW the 95 puked its alternator last week. When it rans it pours.

Brad

what plugs did you use?

could be a bad icm or coil.

hope your using 91 octane or higher fuel too.

welcome to the site. (im stealing tonys lines) lol

icm, ignition control module, its under the 3 coil packs. you can have it tested at a parts store, but they test good when they are not some times. check the wires to it make sure the ground wire is bolted down too.

the coils, when you have them off check for cracks.

Was told to check the fuel pressure regulator for leaks into the vacume line. Pulled vacume off and it crumbled. Replaced all the vacume lines except for the one that goes to the interior. Ran better for a while. Then started running rough again. I have a digital battery charger with an altornator tester function. Put that on and the alt was running at 62% output at idle and 75% at above idle. I charged the battery to 100% and it runs fine. Will see what happens after battery runs down again. I think this lack of voltage is my problem. Any ideas. Thanks in advance.

I replaced the alternator. Changed the O2 sensor. Sometimes it seems to run fine then it runs bad. It ran fine when I took it to my mechanics shop for a tec 2 scan, then ran crappy all the way home. My wife says it is now stalling in traffic. Happened today while she was turning. Lost power steering and almost went into the ditch. I have read so much all over the web that I do not know what to do. Only code is P0300. Help.

Random stalling can be a crank sensor.

As for the P0300, thats a misfire problem. Be it plugs, wires, the igniton control module under the coil packs or a coil itself is bad.

Though you have replaced the plugs and wires already, have to looked at the coil packs for corrosion or cracks??

Had the Ignition control module tested today. Tested good after 8 minutes on the machine. Removed the Idle air controller. It was very black. I cleaned it with electronic equipment cleaner and some sand paper. After I reinstalled the IAC it ran alot better. It is either stuck or slow to respond because it is hard to start. Once started it runs pretty smooth. The wife is going to pick a new one up tommorrow.

Put in the crank sensor. Still dies at stops. Put in a new fuel pump. That fixed the stalling. Stumbles and misfires off idle. No codes showing.
