Hi all! New here, my name is Doug, I'm from Mesa, AZ. I have previously owned a 5th Gen Grand Prix and loved it. Now I am going to buy another Grand Prix as soon as I find the right one. I've done a decent amount of homework online, but I need to do more, which is why I joined this forum. I look forward to reading a bunch of threads and learning as much as I can. However...
I have $5500 burning a hole in my pocket and I could be buying a Grand Prix as soon as this weekend. In my area I can get anything from a low-mileage 6th Gen GTP to a base-model 2008 for that much money. I like both body styles, so that is not an issue. This will be my daily driver so I would prefer lower mileage. My biggest concern is long-term reliability, so if anyone knows of a year or a certain engine package to stay away from, please chime in. And yes, I do like the idea of a GT or GTP but I don't have to have one of those.
