Noise coming from the transaxle on right turns

Hello, i was on the website last night trying to ask about this noise possibly coming from my transaxle when i make right hand turns. I thought it was the drive axle at first, but when it was changed, the noise was still there. It also isn't the wheel hub as most suggested those along with the ball joint, tie rod end, etc.. So i've uploaded two videos hoping somebody can indicate what it could possibly be. On the first video, the noise will be heared as i make right turns, and the second is some noise the starter makes right when the engine starts. You might have to turn the volume up a little. Thanks for the input.

Ok, maybe I'll help a little. Pull the wheels and check the backing plates. These are the metal shields behind the rotor. When you turn the rotors/wheels etc all flexes and that can make them rub. It can sound like an axle/wheel bearing issue.

Start up.. you mean that odd sound as you let off the starter? Look up starter shimming and try to pinpoint the noise. I think you might need a shim or two.

Thanks for the reply, i don't think it's the backing plate because the noise is coming from the transaxle. I did change the driver side axle or cv joint, and it can't be the wheel bearing hub because i can hear the noise slight when the engine is on park or neutral. One question, can you tell me more about the starter shims? Thanks.

About the shims on the starter, i don't think my car requires those. my vehicle is a GTP VIN 1.

The first vid sounds like a backing plate to me. The starter sounds like the solenoid isn't backing out of the flywheel fast enough catching the pinion gear on the way out.

This man is a God when it comes to these cars. Trust him if he gives you advice. Check it out man.

It's ok on the backing plates. Keep in mind the advice we give you is hearing a sound in a vid. We don't usually know history etc. From the info you mention and what I know about these cars..it's pretty tough to say for sure a sound is coming from the trans or a backing plate. If you are confident, I'm cool with that. But then the advice changes to pulling the diff to check it and or rebuilding/replacing the transmission. For your wallets sake, I hope it is something simple and cheap...like a backing plate.

Here's some shimming info. It sounded from your vid (lacking a description of what the starter was doing.) that it stayed engaged after the car started.

FWIw it doesn't matter if previous starters had shims or not, each is a little different. I've had to shim one out of say 150 starters.

Have any suggestions in what i can do with the starter? My car is the (VIN 1) PG260 M starter and i'm also using an optima battery.

I'd try making sure all contacts are clean and tight. Try shimming the starter. It might be too close and is binding/hanging up on the flywheel. It's reaching but free. Otherwise the solenoid may be bad, or the pinion return spring is weak. Might be time for a new starter.
