No sound after radio install..2004 Monsoon system. Need quick help

Got the stereo installed in my gfs brothers car, but now there is no sound. I used a harness i bought from a member here. I have no sound out of the speakers. Im guessing it has something to do with the factory monsoon amp? How do I bypass that amp or get power to it to make it work? Thanks a bunch

btw the car is a 2004 GT2

I found this online..I just need to decipher it to get the amp to turn on

I have one question..I get a loud "pop" when the system shuts off..i read about it online but i cant remember what the fix for it was..

I believe the pop is the result of the HU turning off while the amp is still powered. The factory HU turns off the amp before it powers down. As far as I know, aftermarket HU's will not have the capability to turn off the factory amp beforehand, so you'll just have to live with it or replace the rest of the system.

I don't know this for a fact, but I have read about it before.

It could also be a difference of the amp expecting a 5v turn-on vs. the aftermarket radio 12v turn-on. Call crutchfield as a potential buyer but you're concerned about turn-on pop with a DIY install. They'll tell you what resistor to purchase. Local audio shop should tell you as well...probably install it for $10

I'm trying to install a pioneer avic f900bt and have the same problem. Also what did you hook the power cable for the radio to?
