No Power steeting at IDLE (NEW PUMP AND RACK)

2004 Pontiac grand prix . (not supercharged) So i have replaced struts, control arms, power steering pump, new rack and pin both return and pressure lines, flushed as well new tie rods and power steering is works fine when rpm over 1200 however at idle CANT MOVE dam wheel ...

any suggestions please THANKS

did you bleed the rack of air? wheels off the ground, turn the steering wheel lock to lock 15 times.

Yes I did that 2 times ...

is there a "powersteering pressure switch ?" i read somewhere something bout that ? and my rack does not have magnasteer

sounds like you got a bad pump then.


never heard of p/s pressure switch before. if there is a such think i bet it magna steer related and inside the rack, cause its got 3 setting to chose from, firm, less firm, and butter.

i am leaning towards going to dealership to get a pump. the one i have doesnt make noise and like i stated it turns perfectly when i step on gas its just impossible to move while idle bout 700 rpms ....
