Well, like the title says, I have no overdrive. It was working fine all day until i left my friends house to drive home and it wouldn't shift into o/d @ 50, i tried for 20 minutes, to see if it would go, and it didn't. Everything else seems fine, no shuttering, downshifting just fine, i can get into the throttle with no problem, it just doesn't want to go into o/d.

Could it be a stripped 4th gear?? :th_sick1:

my temps were getting around 220*. It gets pretty hot and ****ty in NJ at summer time. It was stupid, i could watch my trans temps jump up when i did a pull. The cooler works awesome, but the tranny still failed :p


Any good write-ups on how to remove a trans?
 


You can run it however long you want, its not gonna hurt anything. You just wont have fourth. When i got my car it had this problem and i drove it for more than 6 months without a problem, just higher rpms on the highway. Remember, alot of older cars were 3 speeds anyways and they had no problems.
 
you can make it work, but if you beat on it some more the rest of the gears wont be there. i didnt have first and reverse when my transmission took a dump.
