No more 4th gear. Still safe to drive?

Hi all, I have a 2000 Grand Prix GTP. 4th gear no longer works. From what I have searched on here it looks like it's the 4th gear clutch thingy. lol.

Anyways, is it safe to drive this way if I stay off the highway? Or can I damage the transmission even more. Without going on the highway you cant even tell something is wrong. it shifts 1-3 just fine.
Thanks

When I first got my Regal it came with a broken trans... only had 1st and 2nd gear. I drove around for about 2 months while I was gathering up parts and a transmission. It sounds like you sheered off the teeth on 4th gear... you should probably get it out ASAP and rebuild it, or start looking for a replacement. You're gonna have a lot of metal floating around in there.

sure its fine to drive it. Go ahead go on the freeway, the rpms will just be higher and you will get less mpgs.

But with that said, the damage it done and it only get worse, you cant stop what is gunna happen next. Eventually the tranny will lose more than 4th gear and pretty much be useless, I'd ride it till it dies. It may last a few weeks or even a whole year, you never know.
