No display on driver information center

Hey, I'm back with another problem. I have a 04 GP with the 3 button DIC. The display doesn't seem to work anymore. The back light is on, the display glows orange, but there is no information being displayed. Has anyone had this sort of thing happen? I'm guessing this is more than a bulb change...

Looking at the archives in the forum there is many issues with intermittent displays or issues with the backlight, but I didn't see any issues like this.

Any thoughts?
 


Well, I've tried everything short of taking the dash out. I'm not doing that as I travel for and a dash rebuild is pretty serious. I can't afford that amount of down time right now. I haven't found any loose wires or fuse issues.

Any other member have a problem like this?
 
Im guessing it's a bad DIC myself. Ive read quite a bit of other post's just like youve mentioned.

With the car off, when you press the mileage button does it show anything then? if not I would try unhooking the negative battery post for a few minutes then retry. If not im guessing the DIC itself is bad.

let us know what happens.
 
Sometimes you can tell that the DIC is working when it gets hit with sunlight. I have a 97 GTP and the DIC does not light up, but when the sunlight shines on it, I can see the numbers and everything are working, but the lights just aren't displaying. I'm hoping to replace the bulbs in the DIC this weekend.
