no airbags or radio controls

So when i dropped the cradle too far the steering column slipped out of its slot in the rack and pinion. Then i turned the wheel a bunch of times before realizing it was out.
I reconnected it but now my srs light is on all the time and my steering wheel radio controls dont work. I decided that maby the sterring wheel somehow knew that it was not in the right position so iv been laying on my back for a few hours under the dash taking it apart and turning it once putting it back together then starting the car to see if the controls and lights work.

They dont. Any idea why that would happen as im starting to think the wheel is not out of alignmet at all. also there is a plug and a socket that have nothing under the dash could these be the problem i cant see what the heck they are supposed to be hooked up to.

empty socket anyone know what that is for? and i think the one next to it is the controls for radio

here is the plug it looks like it goes up to the steering wheel
any help would be great also i checked the fuse for radio controls

I checked all the connections and they are all tight the steering wheel didnt fall the column slipped out of the sleeve where it goes through the fire wall when i dropped the cradle down.
Does anyone know if it matters that i turned the wheel to the right a bunch of times while it was not connected to the rack and pinion or should i just stop trying to get it back where it was. Also my back hurts lol

have you checked the steering shaft is it possible it broke. most of them have collapsable columns for accidents. idk how hard it fell but maybe enought to bend it at the collapseid be more concerned about it falling through the firewall than rotating it. any abnormal noise when you turn it? i assume everything was disconnected for the airbag before this happened?

no good news my man just looked at it on alldata:

The wheels of the vehicle must be straight ahead and the steering column in the lock position before disconnectin the steering column or intermediate shaft from the steering gear. Failure to do so will cause the SIR could to become uncentered which will cause damage to the coil

ya i think i broke my clockspring thanks for helpin don. The shaft is not bent or anything i have been driving with the light on for a month or so and just thought i would take a shot at fixing it today. I think i will just fix my super dim hud instead and mess with this another day.

no problem just make sure you disable the system b4 getting the clock spring nothing worse than taking a shot to the face from an airbag unexpectedly. Look it up on youtube there are some very entertaining videos on that...

ya i saw while i was looking up clocksprings that its pretty dangerous ill make sure to take precautions i might just get a whole "new" steering wheel from the yard mine is kinda worn out anyway. My hud is nice and bright now so at least i got somthing accomplished this weekend
