Never actually broke into 11's, Two cars hit 12.1 though. Both wet nitrous, both stock bottom end and stock trans, SLP headers and GenV, neither had IC. First car was the 190hp shot for a
[email protected], 2.9 pulley, stock cam, 1.9 rockers and meth, and died a painful death at the track (engine fire, fuel line came out of fitting...had a guy here in town build the line for me, and that was a bad idea). Second car was 175hp shot for a
[email protected], 2.8 pulley and IS3N/B cam. But second car is getting all new motor and trans for this summer, as a piston shattered and put a hole in the block (non-nitrous pass, I think it leaned out due to getting a what was probably a GT fuel pump from Advance Auto and going full power on a 2.8 pullied GenV).
Oh, first car had about a dozen 175hp or higher passes before it died. Second car had about the same at the track, plus I could have done a bit of playing around just outside of town, about 30 or so full nitrous runs. Between the two cars, I completely wore out a set of MT DR's, only doing minimal burnouts at Bandimere, and never anywhere else, and no regular driving on them either. The block and crank can take the abuse, just have to be careful with pistons and transmissions...and try not to lean out, ever.
Bone stock, do not go higher than 50hp shot, as fueling will be an issue past that. If you upgrade fueling, 75hp shot can be safe with tuning. Past that, more mods are needed, and you have to start retarding timing (earlier if you have a PCM with advanced timing).
