NIC cam on all stock engine for DD

just spun a bearing and about to get a l36 bottom and do a top swap as i have a l67, but while i have the engine out i decided i would change the cam and REALLY want the NIC for the idle and nothing else.

100% will tune it safe and not go for power i just want that idle plain and simple. is this ok to do with everything else being stock? timing, rockers, springs etc?

i see zzp recommends this stuff but doesnt say its required and i assume they say this cause most want to change cams for added power so they expect it to be pushed hard. and i just dont.

only mod i have done on my car is downpipe as im not going for crazy power, only reason im doing a top swap is cause i need a new engine and why not?

the only time my car ever gets halfway decent throttle is when getting onto the interstate other than that its babied.

all you need is new springs retainers and a new timing chain. and all new gaskets for the engine.

spending about 500 for the sound of the idle is bit off in my book.

spending 500 for a lil sound doesnt seem that weird to me. people spend more on exhaust just for sound ;)

but new retainers and a timing chain is all thats required though? i can understand the chain but might i ask why retainers would be needed?

also is a double roller going to be required or just a new timing chain/guide in general?

you need to change the valve springs to 105 lb springs. the stock retainers wont fit. heads are off the car so this is easy to do. install a new set of valve seals too. less then 20 bucks. and how often you got the valve springs off? never, so change the seals lol

id also get a 3 inch down pipe and never sc drop pulley. might run ok on a stock tune.
