• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

I have been looking at this site for over a year now and decided I should join up. I'm out in the Boise Idaho area for now. My wife is active duty Air Force. I'm working on base at the Auto Hobby shop. It is a place where people can go and work on their own cars. We carry all the tools and have a master tec on staff to solve the harder issues. Pretty cool job. Now that I have free easy access to lifts and what not, I plan on going down to a 3.4 pulley (all necessary secondary stuff will get done before the drop). I have read the how to safely mod sticky many times. I'm looking forward to being part the forums.

Welcome.

I really appreciate that you're taking the time to learn about the platform before jumping into it.

Note the best suggestion for knowing what pulley to run is simply being able to scan your motor on a regular basis.

You can get away with much less mods than some yet you could be on the opposite end of the spectrum and require more mods to be able to run the same pulley.

Welcome, I envy your position. I'm prior air force, and the auto hobby shop was one of my favorite aspects of living on base.

Thanks the replies. Matt I like the input. I have a feeling that i will be getting a scan tool pretty soon. I get this thought in my head about performance and then it eats me alive until I can't get any more out of the vehicle. So I have a short term goal for a 3.4 pulley but I know I will end up going lower. Modding is addictive for sure. Man I can see my 2000 GTP (4 door) as a sleeper for sure.

Slowpoke. I too am prior active duty. I got injured and got a medical discharge. Auto hobby has to be the best place on base, except the class 6 (shoppette). We are trying to get aproval for keg beer. If so we are going to have burger burns and beer days with special prices on lifts and what not. Would be a great time.
