• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Hi, found out about this forum by reading posts on the LT1 forum. I've always been into old cars. Corvairs (GM's original orphan) have been my main sickness since I was a little kid. I drove nothing but Vairs for years and years and still have 5. A few years ago I decided to 'modernize' and bought a 78 El Camino with an 83 305 engine and electronics and rebuilt th350 transmission. Put F41 sway bars, SS springs, an IROC steering box, and S10 LS rims on it. I love driving it, but it gets lousy gas mileage and I finally decided I needed a newer daily driver. There weren't many newer cars that appealed to me, but I always liked the 97- Grand Prix, especially the coupe. The GP coupe roofline is similar to the 65-69 Corvair coupe's. Found my 97 GT on Craigslist for $1500 during the summer. It had 156K on it, but every GP I've seen in the junkyard shows close to 200k and has been totaled, so I figure this one has lots of life left in it.
