Newbie questions on tuning

Has anyone used the one pully that SLP performance has available. I've been looking into the smaller pully deal, but they don't list what size it is and I'd like to know. I've read somewhere that without other work done, a 3.25 pully is the smallest I can go. Also what does it mean to have KR issues? And last what would I have to do no matter what to my motor ( besides a tune ) would I have to do if I did any pully change. I want to boost the performance, but since this is my first supercharger, I don't want to screw it up.

If you haven't done any mods, you've got a long way to go. Just to run a 3.4" you should have colder plugs, a 180* tstat, DP, intake, and a basic tune. Smaller and you need some better breathing mods like TB and rockers/cam.

KR = Knock Retard. This is when the computer senses detonation (also known as knock or ping) which is bad for the engine. A few seconds of bad knock can grenade your engine. KR is expressed in degrees which the computer shows as how many degrees it is retarding the timing (hence why it's "knock retard") to keep knock from happening. It detects the knock and instantly reacts to save your motor. Only problem is that every degree of timing removed to fight knock is worth a couple HP. 10* of KR and you've lost ~20HP.

Better breathing mods, cooler air intake, and better exhaust mods help fight KR, as does a good tune and high octane fuel.
