As the title says I am in central FL and I have a 99 GTP. It is a new to me car but so far I love it!! I have had a few w-body cars over the years..
First was a 96 Regal, then I got a 02 Monte SS now I have this one. SO FAR.. It's my favorite. I have had a lot of cars in my years also, ranging from just about every jeep made up to 2001 (when I quit chryco) and Fords of various makes. Mostly Escorts, best little car on the road IMO. I had a ZX2 that with the help of a t3/04 it was making strait line runs in the mid 12's. But as fast as it was, it lacked a transmission worth a damn.
but as far as fun to own, front wheel drivers go hands down GM got it right! The Taurus is not much of anything but luke warm wall paper paste to drive. So much so my kids did not like even being in it.. "it" was a 98 SHO. :th_thumb-down:
My current GTP is nothing to write home about, it is 100% GM correct. With all the bits in the correct spot. I wished it made the s/c sounds like my lighting did but I do like how the power comes on smoothly and is easily controlable under load. PLUS it keeps me out of trouble driving everyday not welding the gas to the floor board.
So far the only problem I have is the cruise control does not work and is giving me a headache trying to fix.
