Newbie 00 grand prix Gt

Hello everyone I'm new I am a Pontiac owner of a 2003 grand prix, and a 2000 grand prix gt I jus picked up but the gt is shifting rough at random times of the day or not at all on some days any hints or know abouts I'm a ASE certified mechanic and heard its the transmission shift solenoid? Let me know plz :)))
 


Start simple.

Clean the throttle body, MAF sensors, TPS sensor etc etc. Do a good tune up.

See whats its doing then, maybe drop the pan and change the filter in the trans.

If you have a Tech 2, modis etc etc, maybe even scan the trans for codes that wont pop up the SES light, and maybe watch some live data and see what going on.
