New Tranny plus ??????'s

Well picked up the car Sat. night with the new tranny in it. Left the guys house that did the rebuild, hit US31. Got on it, shifted hard from 1st to 2nd then BAM. Blew the supercharger belt right off (2nd time).
Looks like its time to change to a 8 rib belt. Got all the pulleys ordered today, I had to get the charger pulley from Pulley Boys. Going from a 3.6in to a 3.0in. With the 3.6 I had 14lbs of boost, I think I should get 18lbs with the 3.0in.???? Am I correct? Thanks Craig
I am running a MP112 with intercooler.

I normally saw at least 1 lb of boost gains for every .10 drop in pulley size with the M90, you may see more than that so a 3.0 is likely going to put you higher than 18 lbs of boost and you better cross your fingers your head gaskets agree with those numbers! What pulley setup are you using now?

I am running a stock pulley set up right now. The belt only comes off if I go full throttle and let off of it, and not all the time.
I am running Cometic MLS Head Gaskets, and the ARP head studs, Intense stage 3 heads and cam. 2in inercooler. Think thats enough?

Sounds like it should be sealed up fine but I fear you are going to be seeing more than 18 lbs of boost and I hope the parts agree with it. You really should be running the 8 rib pulley setup with that much boost anyways, especially sub 3.8 pulley size as the M112 eats up a lot more HP to spin under load.

in addition, a solution to help increase belt wrap on the SC should be researched... wbody store has such a kit.

I do have the Diamond Uncoated Forged Piston with new rods. If that is not enough or if you think I may have problems let me know, I have way to much money in this engine to blow it up now. Thanks

I don't think many people will know in your case until you get it on there and scan, who knows, you might have had a lot of slip with your last configuration and boost might have been higher than you thought. You can't really compare to the turbo guys and what boost level mods they needed because your s/c draws more hp to get to that boost level...

I called the Wbody store and they said it would not work with a MP112. Thanks for the info. Craig

oh. the kit they have was developed (in whole, or part, im not sure) by Ron Vogel, i do believe. perhaps he might be able to help you out with one for an MP112, not sure.

Does anyone know how to get a hold of Ron Vogel, this is the 2nd time I have gotten his name suggested to me. Craig
