2000 grand prix gtp 2 door. at what temp does cooling fan come on? lol i turn on my defroster at roughly 200 degrees to keep temp down and i plan to put a new 195 degree thermostat in at some point this summer. i am simply afraid of frying something due to high temp....

Hey man good to have ya n welcome to the forum, knew you would come lol.
There could be lim gaskets, pretty normal. Coolant elbows, thermostat could be stuck. I would start by checking to see if coolant or oil is mixing or vice versa to help eliminate likely causes.

just had oil changed yesterday and nothing was in that...... ive blown intake manifold or head gaskets before and dont want that again.... lol thats why i asked

i think factory fan comes on at 225............ i think

200 and your using a 195 thremo, looks good

Factory settings turn on fans at 212-215 if I remember. 225 is borderline overheating
