New to the Pontiac World....

So hey guys and gals. Well as seen the title, I'm new to the pontiac world, but not to GM, having had a camaro before. ( :( wishing I could still drive it)

So i just got my hands on a 2005 Grand Prix ( I believe it's the base model)
I'm liking this little bad boy so far. I will be posting up pics as soon as i can get some pix up. Need a couple pointers as to what color I should get it painted. Any suggestions????

Glad to be part of this group :th_thumbsup-wink:

Thanks. Well since this will be more of a family car, I won't be doing to much to the engine, but if i can sneak a couple of things into this one, I'm pretty sure I will.

What are the different motors this car can have, cause from what i have seen it's the v6, supercharged v6 and possibly a v8? i know i dont have a 8 cause well i know i don't lol. Are there 2 different v6 engine?

Well the car is silver. When i bought this car, the front end had damage so I had to replace the hood and bumper. The bumper isn't oem (didn't notice this because I live in So-Cal and the car was all the way up in Washington) which is what I didn't like when I went to go pick it up. Anyways for now the hood and bumper are primed black. Don't really like light colors so I was thinking dark colors.

Well yeah I knew it was a 3.8 and I knew it wasn't supercharged because that's where I'm trying to go that way with my camaro. I'm probably gonna run this car as is. How durable are these cars in the long run?

Many have gone beyond 250K, some 300k. I'm about to roll over 200K and it's still the same engine that came in the car. :)

As long as you do the maintenance stuff it will last a good while.

If ya knew it was a 3.8, you should have known it wasn't a V8.

3.8s are pretty solid, 4T65E's aren't so well built.

Bleen is my favorite factory color for 04+
