Hello their i am looking for some help. I currently have 1996 mustang gt turbo. I am looking to by a 1999 gp gtp for a driver. I am just wondering if anyone know if the internals are forged or not in the L67 engines or not? What kind of power can the tranny's hold? what kind of power can i get out of bolt ons? where can i get a chip/tune?

what i really would like to do with the car is keep the supercharger and add turbo, resulting in compound boost. I am looking for somewhere in the 325-350hp range, but i don't know if the rest of the car can take it. if anyone has any info for me it would be appreciated.

Thanks

You don't need to twin charge to hit those HP levels. Twin charging is the ultimate tuning headache anyway. 300WHP is nearing the breaking point for the stock tranny hard parts.

stock bottom end will take 700+ whp so long as it isnt detonating.

the transmission will not. a lot of people have broken the transmission on a stock setup.

350 whp is a full blown cam'd and intercooled setup.

so how much can i make with a high boost pulley, intercooler and a meth injection kit?

and how would you setup the intercooler? these cars don't come from the factory with a heat exchanger do they??

and has anyone tried to adapt the eaton 112 to the gp manifold?

thanks for all the help guys.

you will never get 350 whp out of this car on a stock cam. ever.

you have to get a pump, front mount heat exchanger (another radiator), a bunch of lines, and a core to go between the lower intake and the blower.

yes, people have, but it is really a huge waste of money as you can make power a lot easier in different ways.

Stage 2 Intercooler, Ls1 Throttle Body, 42.5# Fuel Injectors, 2.6" Pulley, XP Cam or Intense S1X, Crow #105 Valve Springs, Some kind of headers, some sort of CAI, 180* or 160* Thermostat, Autolite 103 Spark Plugs...AND A TUNE!! Tune is what makes or breaks these cars...with that setup IMO, you should be around 300+ whp.
