• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

grand pric

my brother has a 200 something grand prix that doesn't run. i used to but only until it gets warm then it would die. so he added more gas , now it is full. but still won't start. he tried to spray starting fluid in and it tried to start but no go. his son tried to get in the car to work on it and the drivers side door wouldn't open and now the handle is broken and the parts to the window is in the bottom of the door. i am thinking either no spark or no gas or a bad crank sensor i am not sure i am used to fords and the principal is the same. i will take a spark tester a compression gauge and a fuel pressure checker and a rubber hammer to beat on the fuel tank to try to jar the pump loose. it hasn't run in 6 months and i need to pump the old gas out.

If you have someone listen under the tank or even in the trunk, when you turn the key to ON, not start, you should hear the fuel pump prime for a few sec. then shutoff. If not, check the fuses first, then maybe smack the tank and see if you can get it to spin up. If you're lucky you can pull back the carpet right behind the back seat in the trunk and see if there is a fuel pump access panel. Should be a few bolts and the cover comes off and there's the pump.

Do your basic checks for spark and fuel and go from there.
