Hi everybody,

Got my 98 GTP last fall and have been loving it ever since. Haven't done any real modifications yet besides headlights, but I plan on a few light mods.

So, I took my car to a shop to have the rear tires swapped. When I get back, they tell me that they did a "courtesy check" :th_mischievious: and that there's some things with my car that need attention. First they tell me I should have a $100+ inspection done by them so they can see what if there's anything wrong. I laughed on the inside because my car was just safetied last year and in SK they're fairly picky.

Then he tells me that my intake gasket is leaking right where the supercharger sits, which to me makes sense because my car idles a little rough and I've seen it before with past vehicles. I ask him how bad it was, and he said one of mechanic's Grand Prix's had a leaky intake gasket too, and that antifreeze leaked into the engine to the point that it wouldn't start. This just seems like a scare tactic to me.

Anyone else think he's BSing me with the bit about the possibility of antifreeze getting into my engine? As far as I know, the supercharger's intake gasket doesn't handle any antifreeze.

if the o-rings go out, it will definitely leak antifreeze into the engine. Mine did it to the point of barely idling and blowing a white smoke-screen. However, unless you can visually see anti-freeze in the oil you are ok.

lol my buddy bought a gtp and they said the headgaskets where blown LOL i said lets go buy it i will fix it when we get there took the charger off and the coolant leaks so bad from the o rings it hydrolocked the engine causing it to not start made me laugh got the car really cheap and only had to replace the o rings and the charger gasket to fix it and drive it home
