• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

What up guys!
First off, Im glad to be a member of a new forum. Its like having a whole new group of experienced people to go to when I am going :th_lipssealed2: crazy trying to figure out what to do next. I am a member of a few other forums like Jeep and Mercedes, which have been invaluable.

Anyways, I just purchased a 2000 Buick Century with a 3.1L LG8. I was sad to learn that there isnt squat to do, really:th_thumb-down:. I dont want to do much to it, not planning on any drag racing in any way. However, I do like:th_thumb-up: to improve the abilities of any car.....more or less I cant leave well enough alone:cool:. With any car its always, Intake, Exhaust. Was hoping to find some Bolt-on improvements from other similar motors. Plan on finding a 3.4L Throttle body, and currently trying to determine if the 3.4L Upper Intake Manifold will offer anything for me.

I figured a GP/GTP forum would offer the best in performance concepts for me:th_lightbulb:. I will say that i have No plans of an engine swap at this time, unless one falls in my lap. The engine in this car was well taken car of, and can definitely can handle a few more ponies. At this point any power options will be worth considering, since there isnt much for me.

Im interested to see what you guys have for me :th_king-normal:

again welcome. a good site for you would be w-body.com. they have alot more information on 3.1's. this forum has mostly members with 3.8's and not many of them know about the 3.1. i do have to admit its more fun here though lol.

there are some ways you can go with this engine. check into exhaust mods, they will help you alot. get a downpipe (not sure if they make one for your specific car), get a bigger manifold (probably a 3400), if you can try to port your current exhuast manifolds and get an intake. that should bring you 15-20 more hp from what ive seen. the catback itself flows well, but our cars sound amazing with aftermarket mufflers. youtube clips should be crucial in your decision. oh and dont go with the 3.4 Throttle Body unless you upgrade the manifold.

My $.02 would be to cruise grandam owners club.com Most of my friends own 3.1L gran ams and they have or are switching
to a 3.4 or newer 3.5 also try milzymotorsports.com I don't belive from talking with them there is much to be had with a 3.1
But they are very reliable engines.
